I am very happy to be finish with this project juts because i know my group and I worked very hard on and also because it felt like it was dragging on forever because we had started it before winter break and then kept having to move the due date back due to snow days. While working on it I realized a lot of other thing about the work that didn't necessary fit in with the main point what what we where trying to say but where still good consecrates. For example Shakespeare is the fool. In King Lear the fool can speak truth to power but plays it off as to not insult those in power.
I was worried that I would have a difficult time writing my Free response essay for the marking periods SSR book because I finished it such a Long time ago but after finishing it I feel pretty confident in it. I had a strong option about the pieces and I knew what direction I wanted to take it in. How Daisy Millers refuses to conform to society and how her death represents her societal demise. https://haquelebac.wordpress.com/2011/08/16/why-did-henry-james-kill-daisy-miller/

I found it really helpful and insightful to talk to Dr. Mickdrement ( i dont remeber how to spell her name but this looks funeticaly decent) about our critical theory project. For a while I have been unsure about the theory we pick and was having a hard time finding connection between King Lear and the Marxism theory. She was really encouraging and supportive of the theory we choses and helped a lot when she told us where to look in the play and expand the scen. She said the best scene for us to look at was the one where King Lear is standing out in the storm, and he realizes how hes abuseds his power as a monarch and how little he understood of the system that he benefited from. When we initially watched this scene it was very confusing there was a lot going on and I didn't understand what they were saying or what it meant. She was also really helpful when we asked her where we should look for other texts and literature that we could use as examples in our paper, I feel like both Ian and I were unsure of where to look or what exactly we were looking for. I think I'd like to look more into why Shasper is still so popular today I know whe expland that its because his story lines are still rlatabe to audeces today and his works held more emotional involment then other writers of the time but I like to know why we as homans feel so emotional invested to the topics of his plots. Thats really something I would look into during college propably but it feels like an important question to state and consider. I finished Daisy Miller over break and think it will work really well for my SSR project. I've just started to read Women Warrior by Maxine Hong and when getting it from the Library discovered that it's a non- Fic biography so I'm a little worried about it because you saide non fic could be more difficult to work with and from what I've read it's a little difficult to understand but I found out that The copy I have might be a translated version meaning it wasn't original written in english so some of the translation could be a bit off. I might look for a different copy or just pick a different book altogether, I figured I have time to decide since I finished my other book early. A Link I found for our paper that I believe is going to be really helpful is this: http://community.boredofstudies.org/325/module-b-critical-study-texts/104882/king-lear-marxist-interpretation.html |
